We were told ahead of time that this isn't the best time to fish for walleye in that area, but we were still successful and had a great time

You can expect to catch bigger fish in April but the number of fish caught might be better in late or May. The weather conditions and water temperatures can make fishing in early April at times a bit difficult. We had to reschedule a trip as a result of bad weather.
